Is "Devonshire Tea" grown in Devon?

We are often asked if "Devonshire Tea" is grown on Dartmoor.

Unfortunately the British climate is not conducive to growing tea in anything like the volume we need to satisfy the demand for "Devonshire Tea", and as such, and in common with the vast majority of tea drunk here in the UK, we produce our blend from imported leaves.

It took us a long time to find the perfect leaves to create the perfect blend that we felt reflected "A Taste of Devon", although the wait was well worth it and we are sure you will be delighted with the blend we have chosen.

"Devonshire Tea" is our own unique blend created from selected leaves of the highest quality from four "Fair Trade" and "100% Rainforest alliance" estates in the Kenyan Highlands.

How is "Devonshire Tea" grown?

The Kenyan Estates, where "Devonshire Tea" is grown, have soil which is acidic from the bright red volcanic earth, and when coupled with the perfect climate for quality tea growing they enjoy, means that “Devonshire Tea” gives you the perfect cup every time, any time.

"Devonshire Tea" is grown in the Kenyan Highlands, on the steamy Equator, and benefit from an altitude of over 5,000 ft to ensure hot days and cold nights for perfect growing conditions. These estates enjoy a great deal of rain (at least 60 inches per annum) as well as the other key ingredient a lot of sunshine to stimulate growth.

What accreditations / certifications do you have?

"Devonshire Tea" is blended from tea grown on four Kenyan Estates that are all Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance certified, which means that "Devonshire Tea" is 100% Fair Trade & Rainforest Alliance, as opposed to a "blend" that uses only some Fair Trade & Rainforest leaves.

I am a business interested in being an approved stockist of "Devonshire Tea", what is your Minimum Order?

"Devonshire Tea" comes in two sizes: Gift boxes of "40 foil wrapped tea bags" and Catering boxes of "100 tagged tea bags". Our boxes of 40 come in cases of 48 boxes – MOQ is one case =48 boxes. Our boxes of 100 tagged come in cases of 5 boxes – MOQ is one case = 5 boxes.

What is your delivery charge?

On all orders for £100 or more, delivery is included (this can be a combination of the two box types). All other orders attract a £10 + VAT delivery charge.

How do I place an order?

You simply need to contact us by telephone or e-mail.

What is your delivery time?

All orders received will be dispatched from our warehouse the following day, for delivery to your premises the day after – in effect, a 48 hour service from placing an order.
